Learning

Congregation Agudath Jacob children who are of school age (pre-K through grade 10) participate in our exciting, new congregational religious school.  Classes are held Wednesday afternoons from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m., and Saturday morning in junior congregation from 9:45 to10:45 a.m. (depending on grade).  Monthly all-school programs and shabbat service attendance are also required.  This year we are using the Institute for Southern Jewish Life (ISJL) curriculum, and we are thrilled to have Lex Rofes as our Educational Fellow as our support and liasion to ISJL.

In addition, the Rabbi meets with students as they begin to prepare for their b’nei mitzvah (about a year or so before their 13th birthday).

In lieu of adult classes, the Rabbi is happy to meet with any individual or group to study the topic of his/her/their choice.

A monthly Food for Thought luncheon is held on the second Thursday of each month at 11:45 a.m.  This lunch is followed by a discussion on different topics and by special guest speakers.
